Attending exhibitions is an essential part of every designer’s professional practice. Creating high-quality, memorable projects is impossible without continuous skill development and a well-trained visual sensibility — especially when it comes to furniture we interact with on a daily basis.

Design professionals need hands-on experience with materials, functional solutions, and physical samples in order to properly assess their quality and suitability for real-life use. Exhibitions are where designers connect with established brands, discover emerging names, and gain early insight into the most innovative and daring approaches in contemporary furniture design.

In this article, together with FiftyFourms, we explore the key events shaping the global furniture design landscape.

    Salone del Mobile, Italy

Salone del Mobile is one of the world’s most influential annual exhibitions dedicated to furniture and interior design. It was here that FiftyFourms presented its very first furniture collection, created specifically for the Italian factory Medea. The pieces received strong recognition from both the public and the professional community, marking the beginning of the FiftyFourms brand story.

Held since 1961, Salone del Mobile has defined the direction of the industry for decades. Iconic brands and emerging designers alike use this platform to introduce new ideas and set design agendas. Beyond the main exhibition venue on the outskirts of Milan, the event unfolds across the city through Milan Design Week, featuring talks, forums, exhibitions, and large-scale installations.

Following Salone del Mobile is essential for understanding how the concept of premium interiors is evolving and how the language of contemporary design is developing on a global scale.

    Maison&Objet, France

The Paris-based Maison&Objet is another key event in the world of interior design. Held twice a year, the exhibition places a strong emphasis on décor and design objects that shape our living spaces. Furniture here is presented in dialogue with textiles, lighting, decorative arts, and home accessories.

Compared to Salone del Mobile, Maison&Objet is considered less commercially driven and often attracts smaller manufacturers and independent design studios. The exhibition is particularly valuable as a source of inspiration and visual research.

    Stockholm Furniture Fair, Sweden

Stockholm hosts the largest Scandinavian furniture exhibition, bringing together representatives of Nordic design within an international context.

The fair runs alongside Stockholm Design Week, a city-wide program of exhibitions and design events. Together, they offer a fresh perspective on product design and challenge conventional views of the industry.

In recent years, the Stockholm Furniture Fair has shifted to a biennial format. The next edition will take place in 2027.

    ARTDOM, Russia

In Moscow, ARTDOM is emerging as a significant platform for contemporary furniture and product design of international standing, bringing together brands from around the world. Alongside the main exhibition, ARTDOM features an extensive professional program focused on knowledge exchange and industry networking.

In 2025, FiftyFourms participated in ARTDOM for the first time, presenting pieces crafted at its own manufacturing facility in the heart of Saint Petersburg. Visitors had the opportunity to examine every detail and appreciate the quality of the Italian materials used.

The exhibition showcased both upholstered and case furniture designed for a variety of spaces. At the center stood the luxurious Vida DeLuxe bed, complemented by the Balance banquette. Particular attention was drawn to the Lumen Melody mirror, upholstered in natural leather. Its asymmetrical form and soft integrated lighting captivated visitors throughout the event.

Moscow Design and Interior Week, Russia

This event combines an exhibition format with an educational and discussion-based program. The focus is on contemporary design, local brands, and the key challenges facing the industry today.

Moscow Design and Interior Week offers a comprehensive view of the Russian design landscape and highlights the topics currently shaping professional discourse.

    FiftyFourms Plans

In 2026, we plan to return to ARTDOM with an expanded exhibition and a bold design concept that reflects our vision of the contemporary premium interior.
